Customs of the Belgians, especially in the French-speaking part of the country, they are very similar to the French. The Flemish, however, resemble the Dutch. But Belgium is a monarchy and it is deeply attached to the ruler, to the royal family and to tradition. The aristocracy has its own rules, turns in its own circles and sets the tone. The result of this is a fact, that the evening social life has a very traditional character and obliges to elegance. Ladies wear jewelry, and invitations are in writing. Interviewees are named at every opportunity, and at the entrance to the guest house, the names of the newcomers are often mentioned aloud by the servant. Orders are worn. The men kiss the women on the hand in greeting. It is good to imitate this, what english, also borrowing vocabulary. Although money is not talked about, business talks are acceptable in all circles. Sending flowers for a party and wedding is a sign of good manners. Brussels is the place to be, where representatives of all European countries meet, therefore the customs are in line with the European diplomatic protocol. To a French who is going to Belgium with the intention of visiting the country, for business or visiting friends, you can recommend it, to follow the principles of courtesy and courtesy, who reigned in France for a long time. The generosity of the Belgians is widely known and can always be counted on. Belgians are hospitable – they host their guests modestly or grandly, depending on your abilities and situation. They like variety, therefore they gladly welcome foreigners at home and at the table. Their apartments are well-kept, because they attach great importance to it on a daily basis. Belgian cuisine is tasty – regional dishes, waterzoi (slices of fish or chicken in the soup), fondue with parmesan cheese or eel are reminiscent of French cuisine, and they are preferably sprinkled with burgundy.

Respect for social issues and a sense of citizenship are significant advantages of Belgians. Voting is compulsory and everyone is serious about political discussions and municipal issues.
